Bunny Onesie Card

Hi everyone

Sorry I've been gone from my blog for so long. Mostly it's because I've been having problems with my mojo. Yes, it did leave me for a while there. I wasn't in the mood for making anything much, really. But before I got into that rut, I made a minialbum for a friend of mine from school, who just had her first baby. I'm showing the minialbum in this video, that I've uploaded on YouTube:

I also needed a card to send with the album. I decided to play along with the current challenge over at Lawnscaping, which is:

Here's the card I made:

I changed the sketch slightly, to fit the large image i had with the onesie. I used a bunny from Lawn Fawn's "Critters in the 'Burbs" to stamp onto patterned paper, cut out and add to the onesie. The onesie is from a stampset by Melissa Frances. I used my white gelpen to make the bunny's tail white, and a brown Promarker to make the bunny's nose dark. I used a light grey Promarker to add some shading to the onesie as well. I added a panel of brown cardstock to the image-piece, that I had punched with a border punch. I then added blue and white ribbon, and topped it off with a bow.

You Rock Card

Hi everyone!

Today I'd like to share with you a card I made with two of my new Paper Smooches stamp sets, the Chubby Chums and the Sentiment Sampler, as well as my older set, Falling for You. I had such a fun time making this little scene, and figuring out what pieces to add and such =) So, here's the finished card:

I used the owl from Chubby Chums, the 'you rock' sentiment from the Sentiment Sampler, and the little apple from Falling for You. I stamped the owl and the apple twice, colored them in, and cut out. On the second owl I cut out only the bottom two layers of scalloped feathers, curved them, and adhered them on top of the complete owl. I cut out the little leaf on the apple and did the same thing to that.
The books, pointer, clock and blackboard were all hand-drawn, colored, and cut out as well. I embossed the sentiment onto the blackboard, using white embossingpowder. I added some Glossy Accents to the whole apple to make it shiny, as well as to the black of the owl's eyes, to make them more vivid. I added some lines to make it look like a room, with a floor and a wall.

Happy Baking Card

So I'm back today with a second card to enter into the current Lawnscaping challenge, which is:

Here's my card:

I used Lawn Fawn's "Critters In The 'Burbs" to stamp out the dog. I used "Jessie's ABC's" to stamp out my sentiment, and a tiny circle from "Critters In The Sea" on each side of the sentiment. I colored the dog using Promarkers, and cut him out. I drew the baking-hat using my Memento marker, and stamped the collar a second time on white cardstock. I cut them out and adhered them to the dog itself. I also added some glossy accents to the blue part of the collar, but it doesn't show in the pictures, unfortunantely. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock I had cut out with a PTI die. I added the dog and the sentiment-strip to the cardbase using foam adhesive.

happy summer! card

Hi everyone

Today I have a card to share that I made to enter into the current Lawnscaping challenge:

Here's my card:

I used two Lawn Fawn stampsets on this card. I used "Cruising Through Life" and "Jessie's ABC's". I stamped only the basket from the bicycle-stamp (from "Cruising Through Life") without the bicycle itself. I paper-pieced my image using kraft cardstock for the basket and white cardstock for the pinwheels. I colored all the pieces using Promarkers. I cut a slit in the basket, and slipped the "sticks" for the pinwheels through. I also shaped the tips of the pinwheels to give them more dimension. I drew in some lines to ground the basket as well, using my black Memento marker. I stamped the sentiment using "Jessie's ABC's". The image-piece was adhered to the green cardbase using foam adhesive. I used a white pen to add some white stiching to the cardbase as well. I finished the card off with some rhinestones in the pinwheel's centers and on the cardbase =)

get well soon card

Hi again!


Second post today... Be sure to check out the first one as well =)


I wanted to show this card I made using one of my new Lawn Fawn sets. I had an idea pop into my head, and just HAD to make a card with it asap! I usually sketch up any ideas for cards that fall into my head, and store them in a binder for later use, but I was so excited about this idea that I wanted to make a card with it right away =)

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:
Stamp Something - Something Sentimental (use a sentiment)
Lily Pad - Inspiration Challenge #2 (I got inspired to use fun, bright colors from Vicky's card here)

 Here's the card I made:

My big idea was to use tissue paper instead of the drawn tissue that this stamp really has. The stamp is from Lawn Fawn's "On the mend". I embossed&paper-pieced the tissue-box, cut off the tissue the stamp had stamped, and cut a slit for my own tissue. I then cruched up some tissue, and tucked it into the box through the slit. I first tried using white tissue paper (the kind you would use to wrap gifts with), but I didn't like how it turned out. So I switched over to tissues (the kind you would wipe your nose with), and I got far better results. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the tissue-box. I just added three dots to each side of the sentiment myself. I really love how the card turned out, but in hindsight I see that I should probably have made the tissue not so long/high, to be able to place the image and sentiment more towards the center of the white panel. But other then that, I'm quite happy with this card =) I used more bright colors on this card then I normally do, but I really like it. Must try to go for brighter colors like this more often!

My new storage solutions

Hi everyone


So, I've been somewhat reorganizing my craft space lately. I have actually been following up on some ideas for storage I've had for quite some time, and I have finally made some storage-pieces for my craft space =)
The first thing I tackled was my storage for Promarkers and Copics. Before, I had them all lying next to and on top of eachother on a shelf. But it was bugging me that they would all roll and mess with my system, whenever I took one away from the shelf to use it. So, I went to IKEA and bought a cd-holder, and then I got crafty! I shared the process of how I made my new Promarker/Copic shelf in a video:

The next two things I tackled were my ribbon storage and a new shelf for my inkpads. Before, I had my ribbon spools on dowels inside a container, as well as having my larger ribbon spools just lying around. So I made some boxes where the ribbon spools fit, and where I can easily take them out and put them on my desk for measuring, cutting, color-matching etc. I'm finding this new way of storing my ribbons so much better for me =)
I also decided to make a shelf for my larger inkpads. Before, I had them all stacked on top of eachother, but I found it annoying that the stack would fall over or get disorganized when I pulled out an inkpad to use it. So I decided to make a shelf to get things more organized =) I made a video about these two new storage-pieces as well:

The last thing I made was a new storage-container for all of my most-used tools, pens, scissors etc. Before, I had them all jammed into two old jars, and I found it difficult to find what I was looking for in between everything jammed in there. So I decided to make a tabletop-container with many rooms, where it would be easy for me to categorize items, to make it easy to find what I was looking for. I also decided to make it be able to spin, for even easier access =) I showed how I made the tabletop-container be able to spin in this video:

I'm really happy with how these pieces turned out. They make it so much more organized in my craft space, and that makes me one happy crafter! I'm also happy that I was able to make the ribbon organizers, the inkpad-shelf and the tabletop-container for tools, using just cardboard (recycled from frozen-pizza boxes), paper, glue and a recycled turning-mechanisme from an old lazy susan tray. Making these things myself made it easy for me to make everything be just as I wanted them, and keeping the costs waay down as well =)
